This original 8 x 8 painting is done in soft pastel on paper and matted to an overall size of 14 x 14. White snow is actually full of color and as I stood on the bridge and looked out over the almost frozen stream there was so much to see: cloud reflections, sun glare, cool lavenders, tree shadows and ground under the ice. Not a white painting at all! Pastel is one of the oldest mediums used and is color fast, must be framed under glass but will retain its permanence for hundreds of years.
