This 5 x 10 jewel began en plein air
one morning as the fruit and vegetable vendors were setting up in the
Square of Saint Margarita, Venice, Italy. I worked in palette knife
on site until the morning crowds began to change my view and I myself
gave in to a coffee and pastry! Painted in oil, the subtlety of
colors layered upon one another are reminiscent of the ancient
buildings that occupy that wonderfully romantic town. Anyone who has
spent time in Venice will have no trouble letting this painting
transport them back to the magic they experienced there. This will
arrive framed and ready to hang.
